Choose your Recliner’s Upholstery
One of the things that contribute to a recliner’s comfort is upholstery. When shopping for a comfortable recliner, you have to consider what kind of upholstery you want for your recliner, whether leather or fabric. These two kinds of upholstery have their own advantages and disadvantages. Let’s take a look at these materials to give you a better look at their qualities so that you can make a good choice as to which type of recliner to get.
Leather is a breathable material so it is cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months. It gives your space a sophisticated and elegant look and will durably last through the years. It is, however, a bit more expensive than recliners made of other materials. A leather recliner must not be directly exposed to sunlight as it may damage it, causing it to fade and crack.
Fabric-upholstered recliners have the advantage of being easy to clean. One of the more popular kinds of fabric upholstery is microfiber, which is a good substitute for leather at a more affordable price. It is stain- and scratch-resistant and very easy to maintain. However, it cannot imitate the unique glow and beauty of genuine leather.
