Leather Recliners - A Shopping Guide

Recliners are armchairs that recline when the sitter lowers the chair's back and raises its front. It has a backrest that can be tilted back, causing a footrest to extend from the front.

Do you own recliners at home? If you do, do you like the extra comfort that provided by them? If you do not own a recliner chair at home, have you ever considered buying one? Why not, leather recliners are perfect for relaxing when you reading books or watching TV at home.

Nowadays, reclining chairs are getting more popular as well. While recliners seat one person at a time, your friends and family can relax together on recliner sofas. Although a recliner sofa usually costs much more than a recliner, it may still be worth to you if you have friends coming over often. Now the question is how would you decide how much either a reclining sofa worth? Sometimes just by looking at the fabric, you still can not access the price accurately. FREE Shipping & No Sales Tax on ALL Recliners

Are you shopping for recliners in Canada and are thinking of crossing the border to get a deal from an American furniture store? You should know that you might end up paying a lot more than you thought.

Recliners manufactured in the US are covered by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). That means you do not need to pay duty. When you bring a recliner over the border, you will have to pay customs broker documentation fees of $45 - $150. That will allow you to process the paperwork to bring your recliner into Canada. You will also need to pay sales tax and Goods and Services Tax (GST) / Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) in your home province.

If the recliner you want is made outside of the US, then you will need to pay duty at a minimum rate of 9.5% as well as the broker documentation fee, sales tax, and GST / HST. You may also receive an invoice for sales tax from the delivery company before your recliner arrives at your home.

If you decide to pay with a Canadian credit card, then you might end up with a 2% charge for processing US dollar payments as well as a flat fee charged by your bank.

You may also need to pay for shipping charges from the US to your home in Canada. Add all of those extra fees to the price of the recliner you are going to buy in the US. Do you think it is worth it?

We've found a Canadian furniture store that sells recliners with free shipping in Canada and is priced in CDN. The only extra fee you will have to pay is GST or HST depending on where you are delivering the recliner. The store is Wholesale Furniture Brokers Canada. Check them out if you want to save by ordering in Canada and still get free shipping. They have a great selection of recliners.
